We grow coffee on the hilly areas of Chikmagalur in our own estate as the cultivation followed from our ancestors. We are brewing coffee from past 5 decades.
Indian coffee is grown in harmony with the nature. It is the only variety of coffee grown under shade of trees amidst forest without clearing the forest patch. Indian coffee forms the second level canopy under existing tree canopy. This second level canopy shelters numerous birds, insects and small mammals.
Another speciality of Indian coffee is, it is not a monocultural crop unlike other places of the world where coffee is cultivated. This generates a unique taste of low acidic coffee. Coffee is grown along with several herbs, mainly spices like pepper and cinnamon and with a unique combination of areca nut / beetle nut trees. This creates room for good population of honey bees, butterflies and many small birds which pollinates naturally with different spices.
Most of Indian coffee is sun dried which is an age old tradition of conserving energy. Also, this creates a unique aroma and smoother note on coffee reflects when it is roasted.
We are cultivating as per tradition on the hilly areas of Chikmagalur. Our coffee is also grown under shade to incorporate the required chemical components and aroma in a natural way. Later on coffee seeds will be dried under sunlight without using any artificial drying techniques. Sun drying produces a better quality of the coffee. Best coffee seeds are handpicked and will be roasted perfectly. Blended coffee along with chicory will give perfect taste and aroma to the coffee.
