South Indian Filter coffee aka kaapi is served hot the aroma the froth and perfect mix of milk makes a heavenly feel in each sip.
Te coffee powder is important and unique to this recipe. you cannot use instant or smooth textured coffee powder for this recipe.
South Indian Coffee powder is mixed with natural ingredient chicory to get strong note and perfect color. Usually the coffee powder will be mix of Arabic and Robusta on coffee side with different composition to get strong, extra strong and medium notes of caffeine.
To make South Indian filter coffee with Canopy Kaapi, you will need:
- Canopy Kaapi coffee powder
- South Indian coffee filter
- Freshly boiled water
- Milk (optional)
- Sugar (optional) Jaggery(optional) or Honey( optional)
Steps:
- Add 25% of Canopy Kaapi coffee powder to the upper chamber of the coffee filter.
- Gently tap the filter to level the coffee powder.
- Gently place the plunger into it.
- Place the upper chamber on top of the bottom chamber of the coffee filter.
- Heat the water not boil.Pour hot water into the upper chamber and close the lid.
- Allow the coffee decoction to drip into the bottom chamber for about 10-15 minutes.
- In a separate vessel, heat and froth milk if desired.
- Pour the required amount of coffee decoction into frothing milk.
- Add sugar/jaggery/honey to taste (if desired) and stir again.
- Your South Indian filter coffee is ready to enjoy!
